Increase in Cost of Police Records Check

The Australian Federal Police (AFP) advise that the fee charge for National Police Checks (NPCs) has increased. This increase commenced on 1 October 2008. The new fees (that are applicable to the department's clients requiring an Australian police clearance) are as follows:

  •  $43.00 - Application for a NPC from a government department or an individual
  • $49.00 - Application for a NPC from a non-government organisation.
    Example: Commercial entities such as brokers, migration agents etc.
